This is my adventure. Fixing, salvaging, building. Trying to make my house an homage to my favorite things about where I'm from.
I’m a professional classical musician who has always had a passion for architecture. As a little girl my drawing notebooks were filled with pictures of houses and gardens. Half of my family is from the south, the other half is from the north. I love both. They have as many similarities as they do differences. Neither side would probably agree to that statement, but as someone who has lived in 9 states up and down the east coast, its true. My childhood dream was to go to Duke and get a degree in architecture. I don't even know what their architecture program is like, but that's what I was going to do. Then I found music. I fell in love and my life's path took a dramatic turn in the other direction. I went to school in Boston, and enjoyed many years of exploring the beauty of New England. Right after school I married a Canadian and moved west. Its been 13 years and 5 moves, and we are settling into a long term home. I'm trying to recreate all of my favorite historical east coast style/architecture/charm- while living in the land of craftsmans and out of the box cookie cutter houses. There aren't many colonials, cape cods, and greek revivals here- so I'm doing it myself.
