This is my adventure. Fixing, salvaging, building. Trying to make my house an homage to my favorite things about where I'm from.

This restaurant embodies all things that I love. Symmetrical windows, Haint blue ceilings, two story porches, tall WORKING shutters with shutter dogs, gas lantern with half yoke attachment. PERFECTION

My favorite house in the world. I think its the first house I noticed as a little girl, and thought to myself that it was perfect.
This is the Northern counterpart to my favorite southern house. The Greek Revival down south- and now a weather worn rocky New England cape cod. Those were the two images that I remember most vividly as a child.
side view of same house
LOVE these stars. They are all over buildings up and down the eastern seaboard. It was explained to me that when structural damage was done to a building from storms or fire- there were metal joists that were run through the building to help support it. The ends popped out of the building, and these decorative stars were placed as end caps.
beautiful arched turret, dentil moulding, peaked top windows
amazing detail over a front door on a residential brownstone on a quiet street
stars, dentil moulding!
semi formal parterre garden
My favorite place. Symphony Hall- Boston, MA
pillars, doors, windows, moulding- you name it, its on this building. Also has some of the best acoustics in the world.
Quaint colonial street
Palladian windows with keystones. My absolute favorite. They can be done well and they can be done terribly. This is an example of a perfect arched window.

widows walk, federal pediment- dormers on garage-- love this Georgian Revival example
southern style arched Palladian corner cabinet. Keystone and rounded top.
found in New England. Federal/colonial style Palladian corner china cabinet.
See what I mean? Same, same but different. See how the arch window is treated differently in the two cabinets?
