Hi!

This is my adventure. Fixing, salvaging, building. Trying to make my house an homage to my favorite things about where I'm from.

Now we are getting to the fun stuff!!

I scored some awesome 17x17 concrete pavers with little cobble stone detail on Craigslist....so that is the floor for our greenhouse! This will keep the mud down, and make the spider situation resolve into something more manageable for me.  Who knew they LOVE to live under old cardboard-- shudder!!!!!

We dug out a small amount of the path, but decided we were fine living with it sloping down naturally with the grade...

We also got cracking on the cedar boxes.  These started off easy- but again with the grade.  It was pretty trick as the long sides didn't even match eachother, as the land slopes down and to the right.  It took a few tries, but we got it figured out.  They are 12" at the most shallow and over 3' at the steep end!  I had already ordered mounds of happy soil, so we were able to put the tomatoes which had been patiently waiting in pots all spring into the beds!  We were finally making real progress!!!

Another very important aspect to the greenhouse is my ability to nurture my crepe myrtle trees in to...well....trees.  I have 6 and only one has thrived in my PNW weather.  The other 5 have really struggled to grow fast enough to be able t…

Another very important aspect to the greenhouse is my ability to nurture my crepe myrtle trees in to...well....trees.  I have 6 and only one has thrived in my PNW weather.  The other 5 have really struggled to grow fast enough to be able to avoid the deer.  Deer aren't "supposed" to like crepe myrtles, but the babies seem to love them enough to complete decimate them every time they come through.  I have moved 4 into the greenhouse- and in just a few weeks they have completely flourished with new growth, and one already has flower buds!!!  AMEN!!!
